The Joe Morolong Family House and Information Centre

As the JTGD Trust collective, we committed to construct a house for the family of the fallen apartheid struggle hero, the late Joe Morolong.

We held the sod-turning ceremony on the 18th of July 2019 to construct a three bedroomed house. We handed over the site at Montsheng near Ditshipeng village, not far from his grave, to the contractor in November 2019. The additional construction of a library and an Information Centre monument will commence once the house is completed.

The Centre of Memory building where Joe Morolong’s home was situated was completed in October of 2020 and officially handed over on the 25th of November of the same year.
