Date: 10 February 2020

The John Taolo Gaetsewe Developmental Trust CEO Mr. Tumelo Mpolokeng and Management team today 10 February 2020 embarked on a two schools visitation, namely KS Shuping High School in Tsineng and Galaletsang Science High School in Mothibistad as part of the Back to School and love your school Campaign for year 2020. The back to school campaign from the Trust is meant to asses the curriculum and infrastructure challenges of both schools as they steady themselves to negotiate the academic year ahead. The Trust was joined by officials from the Department of Education, Local tribal officials and Councillors from the respective wards.
We understand as an institution that this exe

rcise is especially important in that it shows how much we care about the state of under-performance from the two schools. Our main purpose as an institution with these visits is to offer and pledge our support to the Principals, School Governing Body, and foster partnerships with parents to encourage and motivate them to hold on to their past achievements that we know them of.

“We have noted that these schools continue to attain an average of below 70% pass rate every year, which is worrying. Galaletsang used to be the best among the best in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District and are now in ICU condition. From both meetings we have requested the School Principals to develop a curriculum & infrastructure plan that will guide us on how best to assist them to reclaim their glory academically. The plan will indicate what the challenges are, how and when should they be resolved. We will then have follow-up meetings with both schools and develop an action plan for the whole year. This is not once off meetings, our tables and chairs are here for 2020 as we aim to improve their results. We can’t sit on our laurels while our schools are performing badly” JTG Developmental Trust CEO said.

Education is a societal issue and we together with the Department of Education will ascertain that we improve the quality of results of the two schools in this academic year.
End.
